YOUR DATA, EXPLAINED

Privacy Policy

Updated 16 September 2026

Plan Sunlight is being developed by Yurii Koshkin in Spain. This policy covers the current release candidate and plansunlight.app; App Store disclosures will be checked again before release.

The short version

The release candidate keeps plans and backups on the device or in a location you choose, and currently sends no app analytics. The planned App Store build may send a small allowlisted set of product events through TelemetryDeck unless you opt out in Settings. The website has no advertising trackers, analytics scripts, cookies or external fonts.

1. Plans, backups and sharing

Saved plans can contain a title, place label, coordinates, time zone, selected date and internal identifier. They are stored in the app’s local container, alongside preferences such as onboarding completion, the analytics choice and paywall experiment assignment. The app has no account and no app-operated cloud sync.

You can export a portable backup to a destination you choose and import it after review. If you tap Share, the selected PDF, image card or text summary may include the place label, coordinates, time zone, date, calculated solar values and event times. Sharing is user-initiated through Apple’s system share sheet; the app does not upload a plan merely because it is saved.

Device backups managed by Apple may include app data according to your settings. Removing the app removes its local container; copies in device backups and exported files are managed separately by you and Apple.

2. Places, maps and location

Place search and the planner map use Apple MapKit. Search text, map requests, displayed regions and related technical information may be processed by Apple under its own terms. Choosing “Use current location” starts a foreground Core Location request only after you ask for it; the app may reverse-geocode that result to label the place and determine its time zone. You can instead enter coordinates and choose an IANA time zone manually, with solar calculations running on-device without a network connection.

See Apple Maps & Privacy and Apple’s Core Location authorization guidance. Opening a link in the app or on this website takes you to the relevant provider under its own privacy policy.

3. Analytics and purchases

The current release candidate has production analytics delivery disabled. Its Usage analytics switch records a local preference only. No TelemetryDeck events are sent by DEBUG, simulator, XCTest, preview or TestFlight runs.

Once the production identity, SDK delivery and disclosures are finalized, the planned App Store configuration may enable a small, allowlisted set of usage, paywall A/B assignment/exposure and purchase-state events by default, with a Settings opt-out. Events are coarse and exclude coordinates, place or plan names, selected dates, free text, share contents, receipts and transaction IDs. TelemetryDeck documents an installation-level identifier and device metadata; we therefore do not describe future signals as “fully anonymous.” See TelemetryDeck’s Privacy FAQ and anonymization explanation.

Purchases, products and prices are not available in the current release candidate. No payment-card information is collected by the website or this build.
