1. Development release candidate

The app is in development and is not yet available on the App Store. Screenshots may show a Santa Monica sample, while the current code supports place search, optional current location, manual coordinates, explicit time zones, solar readings, date comparison, local saved plans, backups and user-initiated exports. They are not a promise of a release date, final availability, final pricing or features not yet implemented.

2. Apple’s standard EULA

For the App Store edition, we intend to use Apple’s standard Licensed Application End User License Agreement rather than a custom licence. You can read it here:

Any App Store licence and applicable Apple service terms govern that distribution. This page does not replace them or limit mandatory consumer rights.

3. Understand the limits

Sun direction, height and event times are solar-geometry estimates. The map’s direction line is illustrative: it is not a shadow length, obstruction model or travel route. Results do not account for clouds, terrain, nearby buildings or trees and do not guarantee direct sunlight or a particular photographic result. The app does not promise augmented reality, shade simulation or building/terrain obstruction modelling.

This is not a surveying instrument, engineering certification, navigation aid, weather service or safety system. Check the date, time zone, place and real-world conditions before making decisions. Never look directly at the sun or use an unprotected camera or optical device to view it.

4. Saved data and availability

The release candidate stores plans in a local library with recoverable Trash and portable backups you export to a destination you choose. Keep your own device backups if the data matters to you. Map search and map content may need an internet connection, while manual coordinate entry and solar calculations run on-device. Development features and availability may change.

5. Payments

No purchase or subscription is offered by this website or the current development preview. If purchases are introduced, the app will show the actual local price and applicable terms before you confirm through Apple. This page does not create a paid commitment.

6. Fair use and responsibility

Please use the site and app lawfully and do not interfere with their operation or access systems without permission. We aim to keep information useful and accurate, but the preview is provided as available. Nothing in these terms excludes responsibilities that cannot legally be excluded.
